Peer Review

Peer Review

I was happy with my design my partner carried out, it was exactly as I expected with great base and blending of the products, he listened to what I wanted and did it step by step to create the best look possible.

He struggled slightly with the heart but he overcame this well to perfect it, he had great determination and I was overall satisfied.
He had great attention to detail when carrying out my design as well.
He gave me his design, it looked good, it was clear, even though I couldn’t read certain products he’d used, although any question I asked he answer me immediately. I was happy with the way we both bounced off each other for advice and our structure during the whole project.

I like how he kept with the Elizabethan design with the pale complexion and rosey cheeks but made it modern and quirky with the use of the orange combined.

However, he did change his face chart at the last minute which threw me off, with the detailed eyebrows and slight gold underneath. I feel changing his design at the last minute was due to lack of planning, however it came together well and he was pleased.

Overall, we had great communication, we worked well together and understood each other’s designs. The best part was his concentration and his attention to detailing and how he overcame his mistakes along the way.

Photographs showing off my personality

Photographs of my personality!

A few photographs reflecting my personality and love for things. It shows my love for my dogs, they are a huge part of my life, I am a huge animal lover so I made sure they were in my photos. Everything that is going on in these photos seem so chaotic, but I had to include everything I loved to do. I made sure I was outside when we did the photos, as I love the outdoors, I involved my bike, as this represented my love for travel and the outdoors also.

I have my gymnastic medals dangling from my bike, as this is also a big part of my life and my biggest success in my life, which reflects my passion and love for the sport.

I lived in and loved Australia so I had to put the flag on the seat of my bike, along with the card at the front of the bike that says 'The world is your oyster' and the compass around my wrist, this also shows my love of travel. I wore black and dark make-up, with the use of bold eyes, as I am at heart in love with rock music and the alternative scene, this was also reinforced with my fake leather jacket and satin tight trousers and Dt. Martins; it also describes me as a person, I am quiet mad, loud and love to be my own kind of person.

I also placed my Vivienne Westwood bag on my bike as I am in love with her designs and bags, even though I love the life of carefree travelling I also love my bit of glam. I am lastly wearing a white flower in my hair which was from Japan, I put this in for my love of Japan and have a Vietnamese bamboo hat on to mark my life in vietnam for a month travelling and working.

True Love?

Was Elizabeth in Love with the man she could not have?

Robert Dudley was a horseman, he was close to Elizabeth for many years, they would go hunting together, she was drawn to his charm, wit and his attractiveness. Elizabeth would send him love letters, she needed to be careful of her public image and she did this well, she always had her head switched on and didn't keep her heart on her sleeve.

She was always powerful and held her guard up. However, there were rumors she was very much in love with Robert Dudley but he was already married to a lady named Amy, there was a love triangle going on and this was hard and there love affair was very secretive and hard for Elizabeth to see him with another lady.

However, Amy, Robert's wife falls ill within this time she accidentally falls and breaks her neck which results in her death. It was sudden and many people say it was plotted by Robert and Elizabeth, but in the end it came to a conclusion that it was an accidental death.

People say it was plotted so, Elizabeth and Robert could be together, this would of threatened her status and made her look awful as a bad role model, especially being Queen of England, she wanted people to look up to her, therefore
she could not be with Robert after this happening, she couldn't take that risk.

Elizabeth was was torn apart after this, I feel she really loved him and the fact she couldn't be with her true love made her think whats the point, maybe because if she couldn't have him and she wanted no man.

Cate Blanchett & Joseph Fiennes in Elizabeth I 2007 movie

I love this clip of Queen Elizabeth I and Robert Dudley in the movie Elizabeth I, you can see passion and a secretive love affair, the tension is unreal, there relationship was a rollarcoaster and it is sad to see it end in such a way, I wish Elizabeth could of been with him, but her country was far too important to risk for a man.

25 years later an impostor appears on the scene claiming his name was Arthur Dudley, the son of Robert Dudley and Queen Elizabeth herself. At this time this happened a lot, people would say their were someone they weren't to get recognition, but was it true? Could he of been their secret love child?

Queen Elizabeth did travel a lot at this point of time, so she could of been hiding a child and given birth somewhere remote anyway from the public eye? She could of paid someone to keep it quiet about her having a child?

I wish they had made it work but there was no way she would of risked her country for a man.

Elizabeth: Both Man & Woman?

Both Man & Woman?

There other conspiracy was that she was born with both male and female organs and when she got to puberty it was an issue for her and hard for her to except this. She was very guarded and this could of been why? This would explain how she wouldn't be able to have children.

But if she had this condition how was her love affair, i'd call it more abuse how was that possible, if she had both male and female parts.

She also demanded for her body to be NEVER embalmed.

Was she hiding that she wasn't a full woman? What was she hiding?

Thomas Seymour 1548 portrait

Because of Anne Boleyn rumoured affairs, this was also a conspiracy, was she actually King Henry's?
When Elizabeth turned 13, her father King Henry VIII because sick a quickly passed away.

She moves in with her Step Mother Jane Seymour (Henry next wife)  who quickly marries a close friend of hers, Thomas Seymour.

"My Father, my Lover"
There is strong evidence that Thomas Seymour abused Elizabeth, he would wake her up in the mornings tickling her and inappropriate actions. This obviously made Elizabeth very uncomfortable, this would be a big reason to not trust a man or to not ever marry a man after the abuse she suffered right?
Thomas was seen to a charismatic man, with charm and wit and was impressionable on the teenager, others say she began to fall with his way and became lured in by his charm. This is mental and physical abuse and this could of effected her in her later years on the throne to not marry a man.

Thomas was later executed because of the affair and where he set himself to marry Elizabeth, people found out and got rid of him.

Elizabeth became Queen at age 25, in 1558, she became powerful and independent and very single..

NOT A MAN?
But how could she of been a man? How could the love affair of happened?

Her Mother and Father: Anne Boleyn & Henry VIII

Could it of been the reason why she never married?

Henry VIII & Anne Boleyn Hunting, 1532,

King Henry VIII married Anne Boleyn, she became pregnant, everyone was hoping and even believed it was going to be a boy because of Henry's previous wife he had Queen Mary. Even the invites said they'd be welcoming a boy, when Anne gave birth and soon discovered the baby was a girl not a boy. King Henry was dishearten and angry because of this, therefore they both tried again and Anne Boleyn miscarried.

I believe Henry was so angry and he had his heart set on having a boy, he accused Anne of having an affair, he wanted to get out of the marriage and I feel he made this up, but she may of had an affair who knows.
She was soon arrested  and accused of adultery with 5 other men, these were rumoured affairs and Henry thought of a way out as Anne could not give him what he wanted.

At this time Elizabeth wasn't even 3 years old, when her mother Anne then was beheaded as the men were found out to guilty and were all executed also because of the rumoured affairs.

So this maybe an influence in Elizabeth's way of thinking about marriage, what if that happened to her? Her mother was killed because of her father insisting it to happen for punishment, this would make any one not want to marry a man right?

Helas Madam- Music from the Court of Henry VIII
The father of Queen Elizabeth

She was a legend of her time, she had secrets but were kept from everyone until now the questions are still arising,

Why didn't she marry? Is She a man? Or is she both? Why would a Queen never produce an ere on the throne to produce for the country?

Was it because she was actually a he?

There are so many questions about the Queen that people are still unsure and confused about until this day.

Up in the town of Bisley a sleepy town where Queen Elizabeth was raised, around when she was 10 or 11 she felt sick, the maids that looked after Elizabeth panicked, they were scared of what King Henry VIII would do, he had the authority to execute and he was on his way to see his daughter at this time.

The maids knew she'd hung around with a boy her age who was related to King Henry VIII also, the name of him was uncertain but he was called the Bisley boy, therefore they took him and made him into looking like Elizabeth for when the King arrived.

Wouldn't King Henry realise that is wasn't his Daughter?

There relationship wasn't close and he barely saw his Daughter, however there relationship wasn't bad.
Therefore, this could of easily happened, by putting on girl clothes and arranging his hair to look more girl like, this could of easily happened and also he was related to King Henry in some way which I am unsure about and there would be clear resemblance of him in the Bisley boy.

So this was a good cover up?
The maids would of done it to prevent them from being executed, the perfect cover up.

This story has been passed down for over 400 years and even people today in the town and elsewhere still question a lot of things about the Queen Elizabeth, was she a woman or was it Bisley boy covering up and this is why she never married..

When looking into portraits you can see how masculine Elizabeth was, covered up and the amount of make-up and cosmetics used would of been perfect to cover up her masculine appearance.

Young Elizabeth was taken to the country to live because in London people were getting sick and dieing of the DENIC sweating sickness which was easily caught and people would die in the matter of a couple hours. Royalty would flock to the country and live there out of the city, this was perfect for Elizabeth to cover up her secrets in her country home.

The story of Queen Elizabeth is more folklore then reality but maybe the answer to all our questions about her.

Carrying on with the story, they made a discovery of a hidden coffin which was medieval times so about 200/300 years before Queen Elizabeth would of been born; however, it could of been reused or a lot were made back in that time and may of been empty, so they could of put young Elizabeths dead body into, who knows?

She was a very guarded woman, her writing changed to a more elegant way of writing, her hands and fingers were very long, she was masculine in built, she wore heavy make-up was it to cover stubble? or scars? or even both.

High collars she wore most of the time, was this because she wanted to cover up her adams apple? She loved to hunt and would outride both the other women and even the men; many of her portraits were either feminine or masculine.

In the 16th century it was a big deal to refuse marriage, she was feeling the pressure, she was constantly asked and pressured to marry a man and to have a child. Who would be next in ere?

From this day this is one of the conspiracies behind Queen Elizabeth I
