When Elizabeth turned 13, her father King Henry VIII because sick a quickly passed away.
She moves in with her Step Mother Jane Seymour (Henry next wife) who quickly marries a close friend of hers, Thomas Seymour.
"My Father, my Lover"
There is strong evidence that Thomas Seymour abused Elizabeth, he would wake her up in the mornings tickling her and inappropriate actions. This obviously made Elizabeth very uncomfortable, this would be a big reason to not trust a man or to not ever marry a man after the abuse she suffered right?Thomas was seen to a charismatic man, with charm and wit and was impressionable on the teenager, others say she began to fall with his way and became lured in by his charm. This is mental and physical abuse and this could of effected her in her later years on the throne to not marry a man.
Thomas was later executed because of the affair and where he set himself to marry Elizabeth, people found out and got rid of him.
Elizabeth became Queen at age 25, in 1558, she became powerful and independent and very single..
