Elizabethan twist with contemporary: Elizabeth I | by Cat Blanchett on Dailymail.co.uk
Elizabeth I, where it all started, an icon of her time. The pale face which was made from lead and vinegar, was very abrasive but gave her the desired look she wanted to reflect her wealth and royalty.
A contemporary take on the original Elizabethan era designs

This photo is very contemporary but still keeping the vision of the Elizabethan era, I like the boldness of the colour, how original they would use subtlety of pink and red tones but here it shows a twist of this in a modern way, enhancing the bottom lashes, very striking with the pale skin tones and the heart shape of her lips painted pink also.
I like the white and dark tones on the skin, I believe it represents the spotting/ blemishes of their faces which was caused by the poisonous make-up that was used. It gives the audience a deathly but contemporary look, with a simple but an effective look. I would like to portray something similar to this design in one of my three designs, I like the classic effect of this photograph.

I love how sharp the eyebrows are but how white they are at the same time, with the bold colour of the lips and subtle smokey eye.
